Description
Grey Tint Polycarbonate sheet (also known as Makrolon®, Pal-Sun or Lexan™) is see through material with tinted shade. The primary applications for tinted polycarbonate sheets include polycarbonate roofing sheets, impact-resistant boat windows, polycarbonate windscreens, and and outdoor POS displays.
The transparent gray smoked polycarbonate can do barriers, partitions, machine guards, signage. It also widely used for school and factory glazing.
In this guide, we’ll provide you with an overview of the tinted polycarbonate sheet. We will give you useful tips on how to choice a right tinted sheet.
Tinted Grey PC sheets combating heat and shielding against UV light damage. With a selection of tinted plastic sheet products available in various colours, you can tailor the level of protection needed against solar energy. This shielding not only decreases UV radiation but also minimises infrared radiation, making it an ideal choice for schools or the place you don’t need too much light.
Additionally, tinted plastic sheets offer a more aesthetically pleasing option compared to simply applying film to the window.

Types of Tinted Polycarbonate Sheets
Excelite tinted polycarbonate sheets provide good light transmission with shade, flexibility, and strength for various applications. As a factory manufacturer, Excelite ensures the production of high-quality and durable products.
- Light Tinted Polycarbonate sheet
Light tinted polycarbonate sheet features a subtle tint or color, providing a delicate reduction in light transmission while maintaining clarity. Applications where a slight shading effect is needed without compromising visibility or natural light. Their versatility makes them suitable for various environments, from architecture to automotive, offering a balanced solution between shading and transparency. The unique feature lies in providing a mild shading effect while ensuring clear visibility and a natural visual experience.
- Dark Tinted Polycarbonate sheet
Dark tinted polycarbonate type sheet with a darker tint offer higher shade and glare reduction compared to the light tinted polycarbonate sheet. Ideal for situations requiring enhanced privacy and greater control over light, such as in outdoor structures or partitions.
- UV Coating Tinted Polycarbonate sheet
UV coating sheets are specially designed for the applications where UV protection is crucial, for example, greenhouse, skylights, outdoor covers, roofing.
- Bronze Tinted Polycarbonate sheet
Bronze-tinted color provides a warm and visually appealing color, elevating the aesthetic charm of buildings and structures. They are commonly applied in architectural glazing and façade applications.
- Grey Tinted Polycarbonate panels
Grey tinted polycarbonate sheets offer a neutral color choice with excellent light diffusion properties. These polycarbonate sheets are well-suited for situations where minimizing light glare is essential, without significantly changing the color of the transmitted light.
- Blue or Green Tinted Polycarbonate sheeting
Blue or green tint polycarbonate sheet is employed to establish a distinctive visual ambiance or theme in various applications, including interior décor, artistic installations, or decorative panels.

FAQ
The thickness of the tinted polycarbonate increases, its translucency also increases.
- At 5mm thickness, the light transmission is approximately 48%.
- At 6mm thickness, the light transmission decreases to about 40%.
Polycarbonate sheet material is known for its high impact resistance and durability. To drill holes in polycarbonate, use an ordinary iron or HSS drill bit. Position the drill perpendicular to the sheet and run it at medium speed, applying light pressure. A slightly used but sharp drill bit is best to avoid “biting” into the material.
And don’t drill too close to the edge.
The lifespan of Excelite® polycarbonate sheet typically ranges from 10 to 15 years, depending on factors such as material quality, UV protection, environmental exposure, and maintenance. PC Sheets with UV-resistant coatings generally last longer.
No, polycarbonate and Perspex (acrylic sheet) are not the same. While both are transparent plastic materials, polycarbonate is more impact-resistant, tougher, and flexible, making it nearly unbreakable. Perspex, also known as acrylic, is more rigid and has a higher clarity but is more prone to cracking and shattering under impact. Polycarbonate is better suited for applications requiring durability and impact resistance, whereas Acrylic is often chosen for its optical clarity and scratch resistance.
Our polycarbonate gray plastic sheets can be machined using all known machining methods.
- Jigsaw or circular saw
- Milling angles
- Drilling holes
- Even vacuum thermoforming
