Excelite® Polycarbonate Corrugated Roof Panels are known for lightweight construction, excellent impact resistance, and high light transmission, and provide a reliable alternative to traditional roofing materials while supporting a wide range of various applications such as greenhouses, carports, patio covers, deck covers, sunrooms, pool enclosures, and more.

Description

Excelite Polycarbonate Corrugated Roof Panel is a roofing material manufactured from polycarbonate plastic, a high-performance thermoplastic known for strength and optical clarity. The corrugated (ridged) profile, including designs like Square Wave and Greca Polycarbonate, adds rigidity and improves load-bearing performance.

These panels are available as clear polycarbonate, translucent, or opaque options and are commonly used in roofing projects for residential patios, commercial greenhouses, and agricultural structures. As a polycarbonate roofing panel, it combines durability with aesthetic appeal.

FAQ

Polycarbonate sheets may yellow over time, which is influenced by the material quality and the presence of protective coatings. Excelite’s clear polycarbonate sheets have UV coatings on both sides and come with a 10-year warranty.

Yes, clear polycarbonate sheets are more prone to scratching compared to some other materials, such as glass or acrylic. But we offer polycarbonate sheets with scratch-resistant coatings that can help improve durability and reduce the likelihood of scratches.

Polycarbonate sheet material is known for its high impact resistance and durability.  To drill holes in polycarbonate, use an ordinary iron or HSS drill bit. Position the drill perpendicular to the sheet and run it at medium speed, applying light pressure. A slightly used but sharp drill bit is best to avoid “biting” into the  material.

And don’t drill too close to the edge.

The lifespan of Excelite® polycarbonate sheet typically ranges from 10 to 15 years, depending on factors such as material quality, UV protection, environmental exposure, and maintenance. PC Sheets with UV-resistant coatings generally last longer.

No, polycarbonate and Perspex (acrylic sheet) are not the same. While both are transparent plastic materials, polycarbonate is more impact-resistant, tougher, and flexible, making it nearly unbreakable. Perspex, also known as acrylic, is more rigid and has a higher clarity but is more prone to cracking and shattering under impact. Polycarbonate is better suited for applications requiring durability and impact resistance, whereas Acrylic is often chosen for its optical clarity and scratch resistance.

With proper installation and maintenance, polycarbonate corrugated sheets typically last 10 to 20+ years, depending on thickness, UV protection, and environmental conditions.

Polycarbonate sheets are recyclable and have a long service life, which reduces material replacement frequency. Their ability to reduce lighting energy consumption also contributes to sustainability.

Corrugated plastic sheets are available in clear, white, bronze, solar gray, and opaque colors. Color selection affects light transmission and heat control.

Clean periodically using mild soap and water with a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid abrasive cleaners or brushes that could damage the UV coating.

Thickness selection depends on span, load, and application. Roofing projects exposed to high wind or snow loads typically require thicker panels or closer support spacing.

Corrugated sheets are ideal for lightweight roofing and covers, while multiwall polycarbonate sheets offer improved insulation and structural performance for enclosed spaces like sunrooms and greenhouses.

Excellent Thermal Insulation

  • U-VALUE – Measures how well a material conducts heat. For polycarbonate sheet, it shows the heat transfer, Its units are the W/(m2°C). A lower U-value means better insulation.
  • R-VALUE – Measures a material’s resistance to heat flow. A higher R-value indicates better insulation. It’s the inverse of the U-value.

4mm clear float glass has a U value of 5.9 m2K/W, 4mm polycarbonate 5.29 m2K/W, means same thickness polycarbonate sheet has better heat insulation. Polycarbonate Roofing sheet is an incredibly energy efficient and a fantastic insulator.

UV Protection

  • Excelite polycarbonate solid locking roofing system all treated with one layer 50μm UV coating, which can block 99% harmful Ultraviolet include UVA and UVB.

Fire Grade

  • Generally, building materials are divided into four levels: A, B1, B2, and B3. Polycarbonate roofing is used as a Class B1 fireproof material. Non-flammable, and self-extinguishing away from the fire, which is higher than Acrylic sheet.

FAQ

Most frequent questions and answers

Multiwall Polycarbonate Roofing Sheets: Multiwall polycarbonate sheets are consist of two or multi-layers of polycarbonate separated by vertical ribs, creating a fluted or hollow structure. It offers excellent thermal insulation due to the air spaces between the layers. It is light weight compared to solid flat sheets. It can provide good light diffusion, reducing glare from direct sunlight. Excelite are available in various thicknesses and colors, with options for enhanced UV protection.

In addition to standard polycarbonate roofing sheets, Excelite also offer system-integrated roofing solutions. Polycarbonate roofing sheets has great leak-free performance, heat insulation, and high impact resistance, these sheets provide a durable and versatile roofing solutions. They also have various applications, including residential, commercial, and industrial roofing projects. Explore the different types of polycarbonate sheets available, such as polycarbonate hollow roofing sheet, polycarbonate solid sheet, polycarbonate twin-wall sheet…, to find the best fit for your project.

Polycarbonate flat roofing panels: These clear polycarbonate flat roofing panels serve as an excellent substitute for situations demanding high transparency, complete visual clarity, strong impact resistance, and efficient UV protection. Excelite roofing panels are fitting for spaces requiring a spacious and well-lit environment, like greenhouses, atriums, and skylights, blending practicality with aesthetic appeal.

Tinted polycarbonate roofing panels: While these retain the same impact durability and UV shielding as transparent panels, coloured polycarbonate panels also provide thermal insulation and anti-glare properties. Tinted polycarbonate roofing panels enhance comfort and energy efficiency while preserving structural integrity – they are ideal for instances necessitating shade or privacy.

Our standard color for polycarbonate roofing is clear, providing maximum light transmission. However, we understand that different projects may require different aesthetics. Therefore, we also offer light grey and dark gray options at a 5% upcharge. These options can provide a different look while still allowing substantial light transmission.

We stand behind the quality of our products. We provide a 10-year warranty on Panel and equipment accessories, and a 15-year warranty on aluminum. This warranty covers any manufacturing defects, ensuring that your investment is protected. If necessary, we can provide a guarantee letter for your record.
