FAQ

Most frequent questions and answers

Scribing Method

This method normally for Acrylic mirror thickness less than 3mm,  not suitable for polycarbonate mirror.

  1. Mark the Line: Use a commercial scriber to mark your cut line on the acrylic mirror.
  2. Guide: Place a straight edge along the line as a guide.
  3. Score: Scribe the line with even pressure.
  4. Break: Hold the mirror over the table edge and apply sharp downward pressure to break it.

Circular Saw

  • Circular saw with a fine blade (60-80 teeth) Can cut both Acrylic mirror and polycarbonate mirror.
  • Minimize vibration with a stiffener and ensure proper alignment of the saw components.
  • Cut with a track.

Jig Saw:

When using a saber saw, jig saw, or band saw, blades with 7-14 tpi (teeth per inch) are usually acceptable for all purpose cutting.

Don’t force your cutting – you’re likely to generate heat which will melt the acrylic.

Laser Cutting

  • Custom cuts with minimal waste and clean edges.
  • Can cut to any shape
  • Anneal the plastic mirror sheet afterward to reduce stress.
  • It’s not suitable for polycarbonate mirror sheet.

Our standard color for polycarbonate roofing is clear, providing maximum light transmission. However, we understand that different projects may require different aesthetics. Therefore, we also offer light grey and dark gray options at a 5% up charge. These options can provide a different look while still allowing substantial light transmission.

We provide a 10-year warranty on Panel and equipment accessories, and a 15-year warranty on aluminum. This warranty covers any manufacturing defects, ensuring that your investment is protected. If necessary, we can provide a guarantee letter for your record.

Installation of our polycarbonate roofing is designed to be as straightforward as possible. Each roofing order comes with a comprehensive installation guide that provides step-by-step instructions. When considering mirror sheets, glass mirrors are commonly known for their exceptional clarity, rigidity, and scratch resistance. However, they do have certain limitations, prompting the exploration of alternative materials such as plastic. The key focus here is the difference between polycarbonate (PC) and acrylic mirrors.

  1. Clarity: Acrylic sheet has superior clarity, featuring a 92% light transmittance, while polycarbonate offers slightly lower clarity, with an 88% light transmittance.
  2. Impact resistant: Polycarbonate is highly more stronger than acrylic, with 250 times more impact resistant than glass and 30 times impact strength than acrylic.
  3. Processing: Acrylic is more rigid and needs to heated for molding. Polycarbonate is more flexible and allowing cold-forming
  4. Applications: Acrylic sheets are opted for transparency and easy forming, making them ideal for applications like retail displays and fixtures. Polycarbonate sheets are extremely strong and heat/impact resistant, suiting them for applications requiring durability like bulletproofing or industrial safety guards. The choice depends on whether optical clarity or mechanical strength is more important.
  5. Cost: There is no doubt acrylic is cheaper than polycarbonate. Polycarbonate is 35% much higher than acrylic mirror sheet. But also depends on the pc grade.
